The machine’s primary purpose is for conditioning alloy steel and titanium slabs, round-cornered squares, and rounds. The system includes a basic traveling grinder, complete with electricals and hydraulics. Mid-West Machine™ Load/Unload Tables
The Mid-West Machine™ Load/Unload Tables are designed to handle rounds or square billets. This equipment will index additional pieces until the load table is full. When the operator is ready for a new piece to grind the car is moved to the car load position and the walking beam places the material on the car.

Mid-West Machine™ Slab Manipulator Car
The Mid-West Machine™ Slab Manipulator Car consists of a base frame, four independent wheel assemblies, hydraulic power unit with valve manifold, two single modules and one double module and a festoon for power and control circuits. The unit allows the operator to manipulate and clamp slabs from the cab. The car may be loaded with a fork truck or crane. The unit allows manipulation and clamping so all four sides can be secured and ground efficiently.

Mid-West Machine™ Square Billet Manipulator
This Mid-West Machine™ Square Billet Manipulator system consists of two (2) separate clamping modules constructed of 1-1/2 in (38mm) plate with wear strips in the area where the billets are clamped or manipulated. Each module has three (3) heavy-duty clamping/holding arms that are powered using hydraulic cylinders. Material from 3 in (76mm) to 12 in (305mm) square can be manipulated and securely clamped for condition grinding on each side and for corner grinding. Each module shall have a central plumbing point to be piped in the field.

Sand Prefill System
Sand Prefill System for applying bed sand to the flask. This enables cluster insertion prior to fill/compact. The prefill system allows more fill/compact time and/or faster cycle time. Also, a Cluster Insertion Station will be provided for the insertion of the assembled cluster into the flask. This allows the preferred orientation of the cluster for the fill/compact cycle, pouring and/or dumping process.
