These positioners also have a pivoting axis for tilting of the casting for better presentation to the operator. The unit will allow a heavy casting to be quickly clamped onto the table and then easily positioned for various processing operations or inspection. Typically, the unit is used with a swing frame cut-off, a swing frame grinder, and/or small hand tools, but can be used with manipulator finishing systems such as the VTS™ as well.

Positioners allow you to position your casting the way you need it to maximize your productivity

    • Grind with any of Fox’s Swing Frame Grinders with metal removal rates five to ten times greater than with hand grinders.
    • Cut with any of Fox’s Swing frame Cut-Off machines
    • Proper positioning during cutting reduces the need for subsequent grinding.
    • Use with any type of hand tool
    • Casting is easily accessible and maneuverable for inspection
    • Eliminates multiple handling operations
    • Reduces work space requirements
    • Increases throughput in your cleaning room
    • Additional clamping option available
    • Easily adjustable and replaceable chin
    • Lock valve secured to the cutting or grinding process of the workpiece

  • Mid-West Machine™ Load/Unload Tables

The Mid-West Machine™ Load/Unload Tables are designed to handle rounds or square billets. This equipment will index additional pieces until the load table is full. When the operator is ready for a new piece to grind the car is moved to the car load position and the walking beam places the material on the car.

  • Mid-West Machine™ Rounds Rotator

The Mid-West Machine™ Rounds Rotator is designed to handle rounds up to 45 in (1,143mm) diameter, in lengths to 150 in (3,800mm) and weights up to 50,000 lbs (22,650 kgs). The Mid-West Machine rounds rotator is designed to rotate round, straight product during grinding for “Spiral Grinding” or hold it stationary for longitudinal or spot grinding.

  • Mid-West Machine™ Rounds Rotator Car

The Mid-West Machine™ Rounds Rotator car is designed to handle rounds up to 45 in (1,143mm) diameter, in lengths to 150 in (3,800mm) and weights up to 50,000 lbs (22,650 kgs). The Mid-West Machine rounds rotator car is designed to rotate round, straight product during grinding for “Spiral Grinding” or hold it stationary for longitudinal or spot grinding.

  • Mid-West Machine™ Slab Manipulator Car

The Mid-West Machine™ Slab Manipulator Car consists of a base frame, four independent wheel assemblies, hydraulic power unit with valve manifold, two single modules and one double module and a festoon for power and control circuits. The unit allows the operator to manipulate and clamp slabs from the cab. The car may be loaded with a fork truck or crane. The unit allows manipulation and clamping so all four sides can be secured and ground efficiently.

  • Mid-West Machine™ Square Billet Manipulator

This Mid-West Machine™ Square Billet Manipulator system consists of two (2) separate clamping modules constructed of 1-1/2 in (38mm) plate with wear strips in the area where the billets are clamped or manipulated. Each module has three (3) heavy-duty clamping/holding arms that are powered using hydraulic cylinders. Material from 3 in (76mm) to 12 in (305mm) square can be manipulated and securely clamped for condition grinding on each side and for corner grinding. Each module shall have a central plumbing point to be piped in the field.
