Carbide Tipped Saw for Aluminum Castings

FOX 7000 SERIES

7000 series Carbide Tipped cut-off saw and 3 Axis Casting positioner for the gating & risers removal on large Aluminum castings.

With the utilization of the 7000 series cutting gating and risers and trimming flash on large Aluminum castings has never been easier. The machine features hydraulic clamping and remote manipulation of the castings using a laser for easy alignment with the blade.

The model 7300-C2 cut –off saw allows for the rapid removal of risers from the castings ranging up to 1.0 M diameter and weighing up to 900 Kg.

Shown adjacent with a 915-mm diameter carbide tipped saw blade, it provides a full 305-mm depth cut. With the 3-axis positioner, castings can be continuously rotated 360° in any position between horizontal and vertical. When the vertical position, it provides a 610 mm overall depth of cut by rotating the part while cutting.  The machine is equipped with joysticks for control over each of the five-axis movement.

Each axis has forward and reverses and high and low speeds. A mist unit for prolonged blade life is included. The 3-axis positioner features a draw clamping system for holding the casting either internally or externally using jaws or collets. Both types of holding devices are of a quick-change system for ease to use.

The simplicity of the clamping system allows many casting shapes to be securely held. A laser is incorporated into the control console, which provides a vivid red line on the casting precisely where the blade will make the cut. A rotating wheel guard is provided for safety, which covers the wheel at the end of cut. Peripheral guarding is provided around the cell to ensure access is limits to the operative. The machine is CE marked and complies with European safety standards.
